Spring is just around the corner and that means it’s only a matter of time before Nevada’s landscapes start to erupt with life and color. Set the tone for the new spring season by setting off on a beautiful springtime hike through one of the most beautiful places that Southern Nevada has to offer. Boasting abundant wildlife, plants, and wetland scenery, the Clark County Wetlands Park is like an oasis in the middle of the desert. Right now is a better time than ever to visit this lovely park, and the brief but beautiful nature preserve loop trail makes it easy to do just that.

Located on the east side of the Las Vegas Valley, the Clark County Wetlands Park boasts some of the most outstanding desert and wetlands scenery. It’s a beautiful place to visit all year long, but especially during the springtime when it’s filled with color and wildlife.

The park is open daily and there is no fee to visit. Inside of the park is a 210-acre section called the Wetlands Park Nature Preserve. Home to hundreds of species of animals, ponds, and natural scenery, it’s here that you’ll find the brief but beautiful Wetlands Park Nature Preserve Loop.

At only 1.5-miles long, the loop trail is an easy way to explore this section of the park. It’s also very flat, well-paved, and ADA-accessible. However, dogs and bikes are not allowed on the trail since they are capable of disrupting the wildlife.

The Nature Preserve is intended as a safe space for wildlife, which makes this trail perfect for a quiet stroll through an idyllic landscape. Keep your eyes peeled and try to be silent as explore the preserve. Birds, fish, and frogs are often spotted along the trail!

If you’d like a longer adventure, the park’s Wetlands Loop trail is perfect. The multi-use trail welcomes hikers, joggers, cyclists, and dog-walkers alike. Running along the perimeter of the park, you’ll witness outstanding views of both the north and south sides of the Las Vegas Wash.
