To New Yorkers and readers who are unfamiliar with Garrett and Company and this piece of our state’s history, the Garrett family ran a business between 1902 and 1940 that, at the time, had them growing grapes for one of the largest wine producers in the world.

Today, the land you see before you today that was once used to grow grapes is now the site of the Garrett Memorial Chapel — built by Evelyn and Paul Garrett in memory of the son who died from tuberculosis in 1929.

Opening up back in 1931, the chapel exclusively offers only 15 wedding dates each year and is able to fit 75 people inside.

Even featuring some of the last stained glass windows to ever be created by famed artist Frederick Wilson, the chapel is truly a work of art.
