One of the best local charity events in New Orleans, Hogs for the Cause works with local and national children’s hospitals to offer relief to families with children with brain cancer. Gates open at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27 and you’ll want to be first in line to this tasty festival. And you’d better come hungry!

85 local and regional pit masters and backyard grill chefs will be competing for bragging rights in seven categories: whole hog, ribs, pork butt/shoulder, porkpourri, sauce, fan favorite, and fundraising champion.

From savory bacon kabobs to sweet maple bacon donuts, you’ll see bacon in some of the most creative and inspiring (and delicious) forms.
