Everyone knows that Connecticut is pretty haunted, from hotels to roads and everything in between. But what some residents don’t know is that there is a haunted tunnel in Connecticut worth exploring. The Pequabuck Tunnel, also known as the Terryville Railroad Tunnel, is one of those experiences that you just have to have for yourself to see if you find any hauntings. While everyone is free to visit, the track is still active, so be sure to listen for an approaching train. There are regularly spaced recesses in the walls, allowing a person to seek safety while a train passes, but of course, it’s safer if you wait outside. Other than that, explore away!

First a lack of finances, and then a cave-in, this place had a bout of bad luck. It ran as a passenger line for only 20 years and has been for freights only ever since.

They could be workers injured in the cave-in, people who were struck by the train, or locals who wandered away from the cemetery. One photographer may have even captured a ghost train off in the distance. So bring a friend and a flashlight!
