By the mid-19th century, new settlers began to consume the mineral water as well and, in 1890, built Evans Plunge, which was intended to be a place for people to come and be cured of their ailments, but quickly transformed into a famous recreation center.

Evans Plunge Hot Springs is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the winter (October 1st through April 30th).
