The Hot Glass Art Center in Marlborough offers a number of ways for folks to learn the art of glass blowing in a relaxed, but safety-focused environment.

If you have a group of people interested in experiencing glass blowing the center offers the “Blow Your Own” program which includes a hands-on, customized lesson leading to a piece that each participant can take home.

Prices depend on what you’d like to make. Ornaments are $30 a piece, cups, bowls and vases are $50 - $100 per piece and sculptural objects are $50 - $75 a piece.

You can also take part in an individual private lesson. These focus on learning introductory shapes so students can learn the fundamentals of glassblowing.

These private lessons are great for people who want to understand the glass blowing process versus just making something to take home. The cost for these classes, which can include up to 2 people are $125 per hour.

If you’re already a glass blower you can even rent the space. They have everything you need to create unique pieces. Need color? You can purchase it here, too. There’s a 3 hour minimum for shop rental and the cost is $50 per hour.

Hot Glass Art Center is open Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. They’re closed on Monday and Tuesday.
