Let’s turn back the pages of time this summer, Pittsburgh! Remember the good ole days when summer evenings meant chilling out under the stars, pigging out on goodies, and watch a double feature, late into the night, at our local drive-in? While drive-in theaters certainly are much rarer than they used to be, we have fairly easy access to several in the area, including this drive-in near Pittsburgh that boasts four screens.
Stroll down Memory Lane when you visit Dependable Drive-In in Moon, the lone remaining drive-in movie theater in Allegheny County and one of the few that features more than one screen.

If you like being in a crowded drive-in, definitely head over on the weekends. However, for a quieter experience, catch a double feature during the week.

To snag a good parking spot toward the front, arrive at the drive-in when the gates open at 7 p.m. or a little bit after. (If you’re driving a truck or an SUV, you’ll have to park in the back.)

Arguably one of the best parts of the drive-in is the snack bar, and you’ll definitely want to stop by the one at Dependable Drive-In, probably more than once, too.

Come hungry, because you’re sure to leave stuffed, especially once you see the menu that’s bursting with burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, and fries.

That, of course, is just the start. When you’re ready for goodies, you’ll have an abundance from which to choose – soft pretzels, funnel cakes, and popcorn, for example.

Tickets for the drive-in are per-person. Adults pay $8 while children between five and 11 years cost just $3. If you use a credit or debit card, you will be charged a 50-cent convenience fee.

Due to the pandemic, all guests will have to follow a few rules, although masks are no longer required when you visit. However, you will have to park at least six feet from the nearest cars. (If you have a party of more than one car, you can park near each other.)
