Chasing waterfalls doesn’t have to mean conquering a difficult trail in order to see a giant waterfall. Add this easy out-and-back trail to your bucket list and you’ll not only see a waterfall –  you’ll see a pair of them pouring over and down a 75-foot drop. Here’s the scoop on this hidden waterfall treasure found in a densely forested preserve in South Carolina:

Northwest of Greenville in the community of Sunset, is a pair of waterfalls appropriately named Twin Falls.

But, except for their height at 75 feet, they are anything but identical. And after hiking for just a short distance, you can find yourself standing at the base of both.

Technically, there are two easy trails of varying lengths that lead to Twin Falls; however each trail leads to a different side of the falls. From the Lower Trail (see map below), you’ll end up at the base of both.

The Lower Trail is a mere 0.7 miles total, out and back, and is one of the easiest waterfall hikes in the state with the biggest payoff.

After only 15 or 20 minutes you’ll reach the falls and be in awe of the view.

The left falls has a 75-foot vertical drop over a rock wall, while the waterfall on the right spills down a rocky cascade.

To get to this 0.7-mile trail, just head to the end of Waterfall Road in Sunset. Here’s a link to more information on this shorter trail.

And if you want a trail that’s a bit more challenging, yet still rated as easy, then take the 2.3-mile hike accessed from the trailhead on Cleo Chapman Highway, also in Sunset.

From here, the trail is a little more than a mile each way and has a bit more of a climb. Find out more about the longer trail at this link.
