Welcome to Don’s Place, a little diner and donut shop in Protection, Kansas that’s been here for decades.

These donuts all come from a small donut fryer that doesn’t hold very much, but Don works hard to fill the trays in the wee hours of the morning before customers arrive for breakfast.

They also serve other foods, like Tex-Mex on Wednesdays and a full buffet on Thursdays.

Even with the large menu, the donuts are always what flies out of the doors the fastest. And who wouldn’t want them when they’re fresh and ready to go?

Don’s Place is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sundays.
