Sammamish Animal Sanctuary is a little piece of paradise in King County. While the farm is only about a 30-minute drive from Seattle, there’s no sign of city life here… just peace, quiet, and a ton of adorable animals you can visit for free. For animal lovers, this is heaven on Earth.

Sammamish Animal Sanctuary was founded by Diane Gockel, a former high school teacher.

Sammamish, Washington / Google Gockel had a childhood dream of opening a facility like this, so it’s pretty amazing that she was able to make it happen.

This is a place where formerly homeless, neglected animals, or critters needing a forever home are cared for and loved by many.

Many of the animals here are available for adoption.

During your visit, you’ll be welcome to cuddle with some of the animals — if they’re willing — and interact with them.
