There’s a lovely hike in Juneau that towers up and over the Gastineau Channel, offering incredible views of the area.
Rock S / AllTrails Although the hike is harder than a beginner trail, it’s worth the effort you’ll put out to get to the top. Gastineau Peak towers almost 3,500’ above the ocean below you, and offers a view many don’t get to see of downtown Juneau.
This is a beautiful hike that starts about 2.4 miles from downtown Juneau.

Once you break above the tree line, you’ll be amazed by the view of the water beneath you, and the mountains that surround you.

The entire trail is only 3.9 miles, out and back.
