Lind is a tiny town in Adams County, located about 17 miles from Ritzville. With a population of 556, it’s safe to say it’s the kind of place where everyone knows your name. Lind even has its own Cheers, which happens to be called Slim’s Bar & Grill. Slim’s has been around for over a century, and it’s a beloved historic treasure.
Slim’s Bar & Grill opened in 1912, and it’s still going strong.
Google Slim Nichols was its original owner, and he and his family owned it until 1975 when Floyd “Skip” Thompson purchased it.
Floyd still runs the bar, and you’ll find historic remnants and artifacts all over the place. The walls are lined with photos and information on local history.

Breakfast is served all day here, and it’s delicious.
Tod Seelie / Google The rest of the menu consists mainly of classic American bar food like burgers, sandwiches, and broasted chicken plated with crispy Jojos.
You won’t find a fancy Instagram account, a large social media following, or a lot of fancy cocktails at Slim’s – it’s about good old-fashioned food, fun, and connections.
Tod Seelie / Google What this place lacks in frills, it makes up for in character. Plus, the food and the drinks are just plain good.
Slim’s Bar & Grill is open daily from 8 a.m. - 2 a.m., except for Wednesdays, when they open at 4 p.m.

If you ever happen to find yourself in this rural town, make sure to check out Slim’s Bar & Grill and enjoy a meal with the friendly locals. It’s rare to find a business that has been open this long, and it’s important to give them our support.
