Some of Ohio’s best bars just happen to be behind the most plain, unassuming doors. Volstead is no exception — this speakeasy-style space has been part of the Sandusky community since 2014, and plenty of people still walk by it without knowing what’s inside. And while the charming little city of Sandusky has plenty of great bars to enjoy, you won’t find anything quite like this in town.
Volstead is located in the Green Door building, which just happens to be an ex-brothel.
Google It was also a winery at one time, although that’s not quite as interesting.
The space inside is quite compact, but the team does a great job of making it feel cozy and intimate rather than stuffy.
