It might feel like 2020 has been going on for ages, but summer hasn’t even officially arrived yet! It’s arguably the best season in Texas, and Big Rivers Waterpark in the Houston area is adding to the fun with new attractions and a tentative reopening date. We can’t wait to splash the day away!
Part of the 632-acre Grand Texas theme park, Big Rivers opened last year after delays due to inclement weather and several other issues. If the state allows, the park will officially reopen for the summer on Memorial Day.

To lessen coronavirus concerns, the park has added over 6,000 square feet of “shade space” so visitors can spread out while dining or simply taking a break between rides. Additional public health measures include sanitation stations, hot water indoor showers, and more distance between lounge chairs.
