We know it’s a little odd that the state with the Air Capital of the World also has the Barbed Wire Capital of the World, but they’re just as important, we think. Barbed wire is an integral part of Kansas’ history, not to mention our pastures and farmland. Come check out La Crosse, and the Barbed Wire Capital of the World.

Welcome to La Crosse, the Barbed Wire Capital of the World. What does that mean, exactly? Well, it means that they hold the history of this valuable material and its changes over the years.

Most of the local barbed wire notoriety can be seen at the Kansas Barbed Wire Museum, where every type you can think of is displayed here with labels and information. Over 2000 varieties of wire plus antique fencing tools make this museum a great day trip location.
