With the arrival of spring here in New York comes many exciting things, just one of them being the fact that so much color is breathed back into life around this time of year! Thanks to the folks over at Travel Awaits, New York’s Albany Tulip Festival was recently named one of the best tulip festivals in the entire country.

On track to happen May 9th and 10th of 2020, the Albany Tulip Festival is a long-standing tradition here in the Capital Region - an event that’s been happening now for 72 years. Whoa!

If you’ve never attended the Albany Tulip Festival, the scenic event takes place in the heart of Albany in Washington Park.

Each year, more than 140,000 tulips bloom here in Washington Park.

Any nature lover and photographer’s paradise, you’ll find people from all around the Capital Region and beyond making their way out to this festival to capture the beauty of it before all the tulips are removed from the park for the year.

With more than 150 different kinds of tulips planted, you’ll find a new color meeting your eyes everywhere you turn.

More than just a floral festivity, the Albany Tulip Festival celebrates the area’s Dutch Heritage, as well as fills the park up with local vendors and activities, as well as offers tours through the parks of the tulips throughout the week leading up to the event.
