It’s not easy being all cooped up at home right now, but due to the threat of COVID-19 and a global pandemic, Delawareans everywhere are quarantining themselves in their homes and avoiding their friends and loved ones. Once we’re free to socialize again, though, there are a few things we’re going to do right away! Check out our list for when quarantine is lifted in Delaware.

  1. Meet up for an Oyster happy hour.

Facebook / Trolley Square Oyster House Find your favorite raw bar — if you’re in Wilmington, it’s hard to beat Trolley Square Oyster House — and get ready for a buck-a-shuck happy hour for the ages.

  1. Host A Crab Boil.

Flickr / Chesapeake Bay Program Order up crabs by the bushel and invite everyone over — when quarantine is lifted in Delaware, it’ll be time to line the tables with newspaper, draw some butter, and get cracking!

  1. Visit Winterthur.

Flickr / Fred Schroeder Right now, our most beautiful attractions are shuttered. Whe nquarantine is lifted in Delaware, we’ll flock to the DuPont Estates, Brandywine Zoo, and beautiful gardens we love.

  1. Head to the beach!

Flickr / Jeffrey The beaches are closed right now, and that’s heartbreaking. Good luck getting a spot on the sand once they open back up!

  1. Go out for a BIG family meal.

Facebook / DiFebo’s Bethany Beach You might want to think about where you’ll make your reservations now! Places like DiFebo’s, Scalessa’s, and Big Fish Grill are sure to be jam-packed when they re-open.

  1. Take a hike around a scenic Delaware park.

Flickr / TC Davis We’re all missing our hiking buddies. Once the social ban is lifted, we’re going to get out and check those trails off our bucket lists.

  1. Feast on boardwalk junk food.

Flickr / BigBirdz Thrasher’s fries, Dolles salt water taffy, Fisher’s popcorn.. I can almost taste it now.

  1. Attend a concert in Wilmington or Dewey Beach.

Facebook / Bottle and Cork The Queen was the last place I went before the threat of COVID-19 reared its head, and it’s certainly going to be one of the places I visit once it re-opens. Tickets to shows in Wilmington and at Bottle and Cork in Dewey Beach are sure to go quickly!

  1. Take the whole family out for farm fresh ice cream.

Facebook / Vanderwende Farm Creamery Once quarantine is lifted in Delaware, plan to take the whole gang out to one of Delaware’s dairy farms — Vanderwende Farm Creamery, Woodside, or Hopkins Farm - and feast on a sundae as big as your head. It’ll be the best way to celebrate our lives getting back to normal after quite a trying time.

So, tell us, which of these activities are you looking forward to the most? Would you add anything to your post-quarantine bucket list?
