Denver has become a popular place to move to for many reasons…the sunshine, the mountains, and the beautiful outdoors, to name a few. Those of us who have been around for a while can easily point out a newcomer to the Mile High City. From the way we dress (layers!) to the way we talk (always abbreviate the neighborhood), we can quickly spot someone who hasn’t quite settled into our way of life yet. Check out the list of 8 ways to spot a freshly transplanted Denverite below.
- They don’t understand the neighborhood names lingo.
Flickr/daliophoto If someone looks at you a little funny when you use the well-known two syllable neighborhood abbreviations, they’re probably new to the area. Newcomers will soon know exactly where you’re talking about when you mention RiNo, NoDo, LoDo, SoBo, and LoHi.
- They can’t wait to get to Casa Bonita to try the Mexican food.
